Battery Maintenenance
Tips for longer battery life.
1) Regularly check water levels in batteries. Fill with distilled water if any cells are low.
2) Always store batteries in a fully charged state
3)Should you completely drain batteries from a day of fishing and your on-board charger will not fully charge them, use a higher amp charger (20-30 amp)to bring them back to life. Only charge with larger charger over-night.Then your on-board charger can keep them maintianed.
4) Check occassionally with a volt meter or load tester to see if they are maintaining a full charge. When charger is indicating fully charged, the battery should show at least 12.5 to 14 volts.
5) A hydrometer will also show whether the individual cells are good or not. Battery must be fully charged for either of these tests.
6) Replace batteries should they fail either of these tests.
